New strategy for tackling obesity Empty New strategy for tackling obesity

Post by GD Wed 23 Jul 2008, 2:06 pm

A new obesity strategy is set to go before the States later this year, the director of public health has said.
Dr David Jeffs said Guernsey was bringing in different ways to tackle the problem in young people.
Eating less and exercising more was no longer the only way to tackle obesity, he said.
Dr Jeffs would like to see the focus on making more time for activities and giving people the opportunity to buy more healthy food.
A report has gone out to government departments and health industry representatives for consultation. (from BBC News)

A lot of it is all down to home life and what children are allowed to eat at home... The education needs to start from there..

I agree. If a person wants to eat let them eat. The problem here is that those who dictate are a 100 times worse but they can be because they make the laws.
