Child pornography cases on the increase
SERIOUS concerns have been raised about the growing number of child pornography cases coming before the Royal Court.
Speaking during the sentencing of a man who downloaded more than 90 indecent images of children over a seven-month period, the Deputy Bailiff, William Bailhache, yesterday said the court would be paying close attention to the growing problem.
And, he added, sentences for those caught downloading indecent images of children could go up if the trend continued. (from JEP)
Its sad, but as long as people pay for these images they will always be around..

It's not just sad but very frightening and as bad,if not worse,in Guernsey.I just fail to comprehend what drives these perverts.

Is this a problem that has always been there but authorities were never able to catch people.
Now with the easy access to the internet and the way authorities are able to track and catch offenders more people will be brought before the courts.
The downside of the intenet is that the fringe offender who may never have had more than thoughts can now get online and source material.
