No more Island Hospital
A second series of Island Hospital will not be appearing on Channel Islanders' screens any time soon.
Maverick TV has just announced that ITV has decided not commission another series.
It produced 12 episodes for the Friday night slot at 8pm, which had more than three million viewers per episode.
The series, which took six months to film, finished before Christmas.
Maverick TV head of factual Mark Downie said it had had a good run but competition from other programme makers was fierce and ITV had decided it wanted something different in the slot.
"We're delighted with the feedback we've had from the people of Guernsey - pubs, estate agents and hotels who featured on the programme said they were inundated with calls afterwards from people wanting to visit.
"Hopefully it will be a real boost to Guernsey."

Re: No more Island Hospital
My friends away loved this series . some have already booked a holiday to here .it was the best tool they have had in year for tourism . and it was free .
The HSSD also told me ti was the best recruitment tool they have had for nursing staff. that was a waste of time as they closed a ward!
